About the brand

Custom upholstery, made to order in Virginia since 1946

Rowe has been designing upholstered furniture since 1946, guided by four ideas: style, quality, comfort and selection. It isn't a commodity brand. Each sofa, sectional and chair is made to order by craftspeople in Elliston, Virginia, and most designs come in multiple sizes and can be tailored in more than 1,000 fabrics, with leathers, cushion fills and nailhead trims to choose from.

Rowe was a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council in 2006. Its frames are kiln-dried hardwood from sustainably managed domestic forests, assembled with low-VOC, water-based glues; cushions use CertiPUR-US certified foam with recycled fiber; and springs are made in the U.S. from recycled steel. Since 2023 the company has kept more than 6 million pounds of material out of landfills.

Warranty

Manufacturer warranty

Rowe upholstery carries a lifetime limited warranty on frames and spring systems; five years on sleeper, recliner, swivel and rocker mechanisms; three years on recliner motors and electronics (parts) and on standard sleeper mattresses; and three to seven years on cushion foam cores, depending on the cushion type. Fabrics, leather, slipcovers, back-pillow and foam fillings, zippers and woven cane or wicker are covered for one year. Labor is covered for one year under all warranties, and floor samples are warranted for one year.

The warranty is for the original purchaser, for normal residential use, on furniture bought from an authorized Rowe retailer such as Seldens. It doesn't cover abuse, commercial use, or as-is, distressed or second-hand pieces. Fabric coverage requires industry-standard cleaning and excludes wear, wrinkling, fading and pilling, and any added soil-repellent treatment voids it. Contact Seldens to start a claim.

Every piece is backed by its manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage varies by brand.

Common questions

In-stock pieces ship as soon as they're prepared — usually within a week. Special orders are made to order by the manufacturer, so they take longer; your designer gives you a lead time when you order. Either way, we'll call to schedule your delivery once the piece is in and inspected.

White glove delivery is $299–$599 anywhere in Washington State, based on your ZIP code — we carry it in, set it up in your room, and take all the packaging away. Will Call pickup from our Tacoma warehouse is free. You can check your exact fee in the Shipping tab above.

Our white glove service covers Washington State. For deliveries elsewhere, call us at 253.922.5700 or email hello@seldens.com and we'll let you know what's possible.

Yes. With white glove delivery our team unpacks, inspects, assembles and places each piece in the room you choose, then removes all the packaging. There's nothing left for you to put together.

Many pieces are on display in our Tacoma, Bellevue and Olympia showrooms — check the availability shown on this page, or call ahead and we'll confirm. You're welcome to sit, feel the materials, and work with a designer on fabric, finish and configuration.

Yes — samples are available at all three showrooms, and we can mail swatches for most upholstered pieces. Ask your designer or email hello@seldens.com with the piece you're considering.

Special orders can be cancelled within 72 hours of placing the order. After that the piece is in production with the manufacturer and the order is final. In-stock pieces can be returned or exchanged within 14 days — see the Returns tab.
