A Family Company Since 1969
Bill and Dottie Coley opened a small factory in Newton, North Carolina in 1969 with ten employees and a simple idea: build upholstery well, and build it here. Lee Industries is still family-run, still privately held, and still makes every piece in North Carolina, where roughly 90 percent of its materials come from within 100 miles of the factory. LEE sells only through local retailers like Seldens, which is exactly how the family wants it.

Lee Explained
Bench-made construction. Kiln-dried hardwood frames with double-doweled, corner-blocked joints, and eight-way hand-tied springs on most frames. It's the old way, because it's the durable way.
Tailored to you. Adjust the dimensions, then choose from hundreds of fabrics and leathers, machine-washable slipcovers, nailhead trims, and wood finishes. You can even supply your own fabric.
Sustainable before it was expected. Soy-based foam cushions, springs of roughly 80 percent recycled steel, pillow fill made from recycled bottles, water-based finishes, and over 95 percent of factory waste recycled.
Guaranteed for the long haul. The frame and springs are warranted for life, with seven years on cushions and mechanisms.

Hundreds of options, including LEE's performance fabrics, machine-washable slipcover materials, and a full leather program. If you've found a fabric elsewhere, LEE also accepts customer's own material. We keep swatches in all three showrooms.
Yes. We offer white-glove delivery and free will-call pickup from our Fife/Tacoma warehouse. We bring the piece in, place it, and take the packaging with us.
LEE backs the frame and springs of every piece for as long as you own it, with a seven-year warranty on cushions, mechanisms, and beds. Ask our team for the details on your specific piece.
