Lexington builds living room furniture in named story collections, and Seldens carries several, including Laurel Canyon, Oyster Bay, Silverado, La Costa and Ariana. Expect wood and metal frames, occasional and dining tables, and seating built to the same scale.
Tables Do Most of the Work Here
Roughly half of what we carry here is end tables and coffee tables, which is worth knowing, because tables are where a living room usually falls apart. Get the heights right. A coffee table should land within an inch or two of the sofa seat height, and an end table level with the arm or just below. Leave about 18 inches between sofa and coffee table so people can pass and still reach a drink. Rectangles dominate here, with a handful of rounds for rooms with traffic running through them.
Building a Room From One Lexington Story
The advantage of a named collection is that the pieces were drawn together. Finishes match, scale is consistent, and a media console lines up with the end tables without an argument. You do not have to buy the whole story, though. Take the tables from one and the seating from another, since the sectionals, sofas and ottomans here all live in the same range. Coastal and La Costa pieces hold the lighter end of the palette.
