The entry is the smallest room in most houses and the one every guest sees first. It has to hold keys, absorb shoes and coats, and still look composed. Seldens' Entryway & Foyer Furniture covers console tables, benches, mirrors and slim storage built for the narrow footprint a hallway gives you.

Console Tables, Benches and Hall Storage

A console table against the wall is the usual anchor. Choose one shallow enough to walk past comfortably, ideally under sixteen inches deep in a tight hall. A bench underneath gives you somewhere to sit and pull on boots, and a basket tucked below handles the overflow. If the space allows, a narrow cabinet closes everything away.

Finishing the First Impression

Hang a mirror above the console to bounce light into a space that rarely has a window, and set a table lamp to one side for a warm glow after dark. A runner or small rug defines the path and softens the acoustics. Finish with a vase or a shallow tray for keys.
