Description

The Sarasota is built around a level of motion furniture control that most sofas in this category do not offer. The headrest and footrest on each seat operate independently from one another, which means the position of the back does not force a corresponding change in the legs. Back cushion options include Hills (channeled), Ridge (saddle profile), or Valley (tufted), each producing a distinctly different visual texture across the same frame. This configuration uses Ridge, giving the sofa a structured, saddle-profile back that adds dimension to the Bison Champagne leather.

Power recline is built into the end seats with an in-arm control panel that includes a USB-C charging port and LED backlit buttons with auto-off. Oiled Ash legs ground the frame with a natural warm tone, and an adjustable lumbar option supports extended use in the reclined position. A lithium-ion battery pack allows the power mechanism to operate without proximity to a floor outlet.

Founded by engineers in 1990, American Leather was built on a simple idea: custom furniture shouldn't take months. Today hundreds of craftspeople build every piece to order in a 350,000-square-foot factory in Dallas, Texas, with more than 400 fabrics and leathers and hundreds of configurations to choose from.

It's the maker behind the Comfort Sleeper, the sleeper sofa with no bars and no springs, just a 5-inch plush foam mattress, and the Re-Invented Recliner, which hides its motion inside a clean, modern silhouette. As a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council, American Leather builds frames from sustainably harvested wood, uses water-based pigments on its leathers, and since 2014 has used only foam, leather and fabric free from fire retardants.

Manufacturer warranty

American Leather backs the frame and suspension of its furniture with a limited lifetime warranty, and warrants the rest of each piece to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for five years from the date of purchase.

For questions or service, contact Seldens as your American Leather retailer and we will work with American Leather to resolve it quickly. You can also register your piece's warranty directly with American Leather.

Every piece is backed by its manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage varies by brand.

In-stock pieces ship as soon as they're prepared — usually within a week. Special orders are made to order by the manufacturer, so they take longer; your designer gives you a lead time when you order. Either way, we'll call to schedule your delivery once the piece is in and inspected.

White glove delivery is $299–$599 anywhere in Washington State, based on your ZIP code — we carry it in, set it up in your room, and take all the packaging away. Will Call pickup from our Tacoma warehouse is free. You can check your exact fee in the Shipping tab above.
