Description

Blooming across the front, an intricate floral inlay turns this lidded chest into a quiet work of art at the foot of the bed. Rich quartersawn oak frames the design, and small square piercings at the base of the stiles add a handcrafted rhythm you notice up close.

Lift the lid and a cedar-lined interior waits for quilts, spare blankets and out-of-season sweaters, keeping them fresh and tucked away. Lifts on each end make it easy to move when you rearrange, and it looks just as lovely beneath a window or in a front hall.

Why You'll Love It

  • A cedar-lined interior keeps extra blankets and linens fresh and close at hand.
  • The hand-pieced floral inlay brings artisan detail you can enjoy every single day.
  • A spring-supported lid stays open safely while you sort, fold and fill.

Design Details

  • Lidded blanket chest reimagining a rare design by Arts and Crafts master Ernest Batchelder
  • Quartersawn white oak solids with rift oak veneers, offered here in Onondaga, Lodge and Raven finishes
  • Floral inlay pieced from cherry, celtis, maple, mahogany, makore and black-dyed veneers set into rift oak
  • Pinned mortise-and-tenon joinery, with square piercings at the base of each vertical stile
  • Hinged lid with a spring-loaded support that holds it open while you reach inside
  • Cedar-lined interior, a protective home for blankets, linens and clothing
  • Bronze-finished lifts on each end for easy moving
  • Handcrafted in Manlius, New York

About the brand

American hardwood furniture, handcrafted since 1900

Stickley has been making furniture in America for 125 years, carrying on the Arts & Crafts legacy of Gustav Stickley and the cabinetmaking of his brother Leopold, the "dean of cabinet makers." Today the family-owned L. & J.G. Stickley builds premium hardwood furniture and fine upholstery with time-honored construction techniques from its home in Manlius, New York.

Stickley is best known for its white oak and cherry, sourced from Appalachian, Adirondack, New York and Pennsylvania forests that are growing faster than they are harvested, often from small family-owned woodlots it has worked with for decades. Pieces are intentionally overbuilt to last for generations, and every piece is backed structurally for the lifetime of the original owner.

Warranty & Protection

Manufacturer warranty

Stickley stands behind its furniture for the lifetime of the original owner: if a piece fails structurally at any time because of workmanship or material, Stickley will repair or replace it at its discretion, with a replacement of the same or similar color, design, style and quality if repair is not practical. Coverage begins when the piece is delivered to your home.

To make a claim, contact Seldens as your authorized Stickley dealer with your original sales receipt; you must be the original owner, and Stickley or the dealer may need to inspect the piece. Misuse or abuse voids the warranty, items sold as-is or final sale carry no warranty, and fabric mills do not guarantee the colorfastness or wear of fabrics.

Every piece is backed by its manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage varies by brand.
