The key to a beautifully designed space for Margaret? “Serendipity! I try to leave room for it in all my projects,” she says. And that love of luck has led Margaret to find her inspiration in so many different places. “It could be in some publication, or in a piece of fabric, or in a new piece of furniture in our showroom,” she says. “Or maybe it comes to me when I’m watching movies or traveling.”

Margaret has worked in the professional design world for close to 30 years and joined the Seldens team in 1997. In that time, she’s come to realize that every good project begins with a good conversation. “That means listening more and speaking less,” she notes. “The people I get to know through this work, and forge long-lasting relationships with, they are priceless.”

In her spare time, Margaret’s primary passion is gardening, followed by cooking, reading and skiing. And in the summer, you’ll find her “roughing it up” in Eastern Washington and on the Columbia River.
